In a ever-depressing school such as Shitbag HS, Halloween should be the one time where fun can be had. So in order to have that fun, my department decided that we would wear themed hoodies.

Get it? It looks like the Continental Army from the Revolutionary War. As a bunch of Social Studies teachers, we all thought so. After ordering them, only two of us actually got our hoodies in time for Halloween. We wore them, naturally. As someone that has shockingly low self-esteem, I looked damn good in the hoodie. It must be the mix of the most patriotic colors in the world. A hoodie that just screams freedom.

All of these good things came to a screeching halt when one teacher informed me that some believed I was wearing a goddamn Confederate flag. I mean, for fuck’s sake, who in their right mind would think that? I mean I could understand if a student made the mistake, they’re still learning. But an adult? Like a grown ass adult? For a physical adult to possess such little intellect while working in a fucking school just baffles me. I can’t wait to see this mental midget and just absolutely force feed basic information down their throat like a human centipede.

There was a fuckin crusade in public over anyone that even so much uttered the words Confederate Flag. How in the world could someone still be so stupid as to think that hoodie is a symbol of hate.

So for those who are too stupid to not know….here is the Confederate Flag. This was a flag used by the Confederate States of America. They were a failed rebellion that consisted of 11 states. The CSA and its sympathizers often stress that the cause of their secession was because of states’ rights. In reality they wanted to preserve the right to continue enslaving an entire race for profit. The CSA fought a brutal, bloody war in which they lost to the good ole’ US of A.

Now some backward ass people in the South still like to use the Confederate flag as a source of pride. In some cultural dementia, they like to stress that the South shall rise again. What they seem to forget is that the CSA really only existed for at most 4 years. They lost in a pretty brutal and embarrassing fashion. I mean for shit’s sake, General Sherman burned Atlanta to the fuckin’ ground.

The South is also responsible for enslaving millions of people to work in abhorrent conditions. So I don’t really understand the thought of “The South will rise again”. They literally have nothing to be proud of. LITERALLY NOTHING.

As many people now know, the Confederate Flag is being taken as a rallying cry for Nazi’s and people who hate anyone with melanin in their skin. They also have a fondness for spending their money on dip, trucks and tiki torches.

Now you can get a glimpse of why I am so pissed off that I decided to dedicate an entire blog to it.

THE CONFEDERATE FLAG IS NOT THE SAME THING AS THE CONTINENTAL ARMY UNIFORM. GET IT THROUGH YOUR THIN SKULLS YOU SIMPLETONS.

I mean look at these guys. Their apparel screams freedom. When you look at/wear this uniform, you become 100% more patriotic. If you open up your window and listen closely, you can hear a bald eagle cry out.
